Complete The Routine

For another grooming task

For the small jobs between appointments.

You’ve noticed a little fur that needs attention. You want to see the area clearly and work slowly.

Halo’s LED sits at the cutting head, putting light on the detail you’re trimming. Its cordless design keeps a cable out of the way while you position the tool.

Getting started

Before the first trim

Let your dog get used to Halo's sound and the feel of it near their coat before you turn it on near a sensitive area. A calm, brief introduction away from the actual trim helps you judge how they will respond once the motor is running.

First session

What a first session looks like

Charge Halo fully before the first use, then pick one small, easy-to-reach area for the first pass rather than starting on a paw or the face. Watch how your dog reacts to the motor and the light before moving to a more sensitive spot on a later session.

Right tool

Is Halo the right tool for the job?

Halo is built for small, detail-level touch-ups, not a full-body haircut or a heavily matted coat. If the job in front of you is bigger than a quick touch-up, or involves a coat you are not confident handling, a professional groomer is the better starting point.

  • Small, detail-level touch-ups
  • Not a full-body haircut
  • Matted coat? Ask a professional groomer

Take it slow

Sensitive areas and when to get help

Paws, faces and sanitary areas need a steadier hand and a slower pace than the rest of the coat. Ask a groomer to show you the technique on these spots before you attempt them yourself, and switch Halo off any time your dog seems uncomfortable or you lose a clear view of what you are trimming.

Got questions?

We have answers

What is the Halo for?
Halo is for small fur touch-ups. It is designed to work on most dog coats. Precise areas such as around the face and paws need careful technique, and a groomer is a good option if you are unsure. Think of Halo as a detail tool, not a full-body clipper.
Is Halo a full-body clipper?
No. Halo is positioned for small-area detail work, not for an all-over haircut. For a full-body clip, dense matting or a difficult coat, ask a professional groomer about the right equipment and approach, and keep Halo for tidying small areas between grooming visits.
Does the LED prevent nicks?
No. The LED illuminates the working area, but it does not prevent nicks. Safe handling, the right technique and your dog's movement still matter. Work slowly, keep the blade moving gently, and use good room lighting as well so you can see what you are trimming.
Can I trim paws, the face or sanitary areas?
These are sensitive areas that need suitable technique. Check the product instructions and ask a groomer to demonstrate the task before attempting it yourself. Do not trim an area you cannot see clearly or handle confidently, and stop and ask a groomer for help if you feel unsure.
Is it gentle on skin?
Halo has rounded blade tips designed to be gentler on sensitive skin. Avoid sore or irritated areas, and ask your veterinarian about trimming a dog with a skin problem. Work slowly with light contact, and stop if you are not sure about an area of skin.
How is it charged?
Halo is cordless and USB rechargeable. The box includes a USB cable, so you can charge it before you start a trim. Follow the user manual that comes with your trimmer for charging and care, and email us if anything is unclear.
What is in the box?
The box includes the trimmer, a USB cable, a cleaning brush, a bottle of lubricating oil and a user manual. Please read the manual that arrives with your trimmer and email us with any questions.
When will it arrive, and can I return it?
Orders normally dispatch within 1 to 3 business days. The Halo Trimmer has a longer delivery estimate: 7 to 11 business days to the US, or 6 to 10 to Canada, after dispatch. The trimmer is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee; replacement blades are not. Contact us before sending anything back.
Can I replace the blade?
Yes. The Halo Replacement Blade is sold separately, in packs of 3 or 6 stainless steel blades. The 3 Blades pack is labeled as a 6 month supply and the 6 Blades pack as a 1 year supply, so you can choose the size that suits how often you trim.
